The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton and the Hub City Young Professionals Network join forces to highlight young change-makers of Greater Moncton
The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton (CCGM) and the Hub City Young Professionals Network are launching a new event to celebrate an increasingly important part of the community – young leaders and change-makers.
On May 22, 2019, for the first time in the region, the Top 20 Under 40 will be recognized by the Chamber of Commerce and the Hub City Young Professionals Network at the Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre.
For the CCGM, this renewed partnership with the Hub City Young Professionals Network is a unique way of connecting with young leaders of Greater Moncton. Across all sections, business, non-profit, education, arts, politics, health or public service, these people are the future leaders of our community.
“Young professionals are a vital asset to our region and it's important to acknowledge those who are making great strides in shaping our community's future”, said John Wishart, CEO of the Chamber.
The Greater Moncton’s Top 20 Under 40 will highlight 20 individuals, under the age of 40, who are making a difference in the community. The emphasis is placed on leadership - whether it is in business, politics, the arts, non-profits, education, the environment, health care or public service. Focus is also placed on the nominee's community involvement.
“Think of your friends, family, colleagues, clients. Anyone who acts as a leader in our community and pushes to make our region a better place to live. Our community needs to recognize them, nominate as many as you'd like”, said Patrick Richard, founder of the Hub City Young Professionals Network.
The nomination process is now open and will remain open until March 29, 2019. The nominations will be handed over to our Greater Moncton’s Top 20 Under 40 Advisory Board. After the Advisory Board makes their selections, the finalists will be announced during the Chamber’s Business & Workforce Expo on April 11 at CCNB Dieppe.
Our first ever class of Greater Moncton’s Top 20 Under 40 will be revealed at our Recognition Reception on May 22nd, at the Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre. The event will start at 6 pm with a networking reception, followed by a recognition ceremony, where the 20 winners will be announced. Tickets are on sale now at ccgm.ca or by phone at 506 857-2883.
The Top 20 Under 40 is offering sponsorship opportunities. Enbridge Gas NB has already signed up as an event sponsor and this initiative will be a great way for all employers to showcase themselves to young talent and potential employees. To learn about sponsorship opportunities, contact the Chamber at events@ccgm.ca or call 506 857-2883.
