The Southeast Labour Market Partnership
to hold major workforce event in November

Moncton (NB), November 14th,  2022 â€“ A major one-day workforce conference designed to help Southeast New Brunswick employers will be presented on November 17th.
 
The Workforce of the Future Conference is a Southeast Labour Market Partnership initiative presented by the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton and 3+ Economic Development Corporation, which will deliver information to Southeast New Brunswick business leaders on the state of the local labour market and provide progress reports on efforts to build workforce attraction, retention, talent development, and labour market data plans.

The conference will be held Thursday November 17, at the Delta Beauséjour in Moncton and include panel discussions and guest speakers on connecting to global talent and the latest in workforce strategy transformation. It will also provide attendees with toolkits they can use to attract and retain employees creating a flexible workplace, and implementing a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace.

“These toolkits will help employers tap into the strength of diverse teams more effectively with inclusive approaches and practical advice to implement them. They are designed and created to provide employers information on how to support their team with flexible options while maintaining a consistent and reliable workforce for their business.” highlighted Susy Campos, CEO of 3+ Corporation.
 
“The Workforce of the Future will provide the context for the challenge, offer expertise from thought leaders, and give business owners best practices in the areas of attracting global talent, and offering a hybrid work model post-pandemic.” said John Wishart, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton.
 
“New Brunswick continues to face labour shortages and we everyone rowing in the same direction to meet the demands of our labour market,” said Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister, Trevor Holder. “Events like these are important to ensuring collaboration, fostering best practices and sparking new ideas and I appreciate the efforts of everyone involved.”
 
We will explore the importance of connecting newcomer talent with opportunities and the role we as a community play in keeping the best-of-the-best here.
 
Multiple stakeholders and partners have joined forces with the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton and 3+ Economic Development Corporation to create the day-long event. The provincial Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour, the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), Deloitte, Atlantic Lottery, J.D. Irving, Medavie, Université de Moncton, Oulton College, Crandall University, NBCC, Assumption Life, CPA New Brunswick, and Delta Beauséjour are working with the Chamber and 3+ Corporation to present this signature event.
 
“This conference builds on the success of the 2020 Summit by generating new dialogue between business leaders on key issues facing regional employers including connecting employers to the global talent pool and creating new workforce retention strategies. By bringing together top minds to collaborate on solving the workforce challenges facing our region, we are generating new possibilities for Southeast New Brunswick.” said the Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Official Languages and Minister responsible for ACOA.
 
Guest speakers include economist Richard Saillant and Stephen Harrington, Director Human Capital at Deloitte, writer, and speaker on the future of work since 2011.
